Gordo es un guapísimo y imponente American Staffordshire Terrier en su mejor momento. Su anterior dueño lo dejó en la protectora porque ya no podía cuidarlo. Gordo ya lleva bastante tiempo esperando una segunda oportunidad y una casa nueva. La vida en la protectora le causa mucho estrés y notamos que cada día se vuelve más infeliz. De vez en cuando Gordo puede escapar del estrés durante unos días cuando se le permite quedarse con sus padrinos cuando están aquí de vacaciones. Y tan pronto como Gordo llega a su entorno tranquilo, se relaja por completo y parece otro perro. Sus padrinos dicen que en su casa y jardín es un perro tranquilo y muy educado. Es sensible, empático y le encanta la presencia y atención de las personas. Gordo también es muy obediente y tranquilo dentro de la casa y siempre se muestra de su mejor lado, no mendiga en la mesa, es limpio y por la noche simplemente se acuesta en su manta soñando.
Gordo tiene un instinto para proteger y su gran tamaño, complexión fuerte y ladrido de tono profundo definitivamente ayudarán a proteger la casa de los intrusos. Gordo no es un gran fanático de los gatos, por lo que los ahuyentará. La simpatía con otros perros depende del otro perro, parece que Gordo tiene preferencia por las hembras tranquilas y equilibradas, sin embargo, creemos que prefiere ser un ´único niño´.
A Gordo le gustan los paseos, sin embargo, cuando sale a pasear en áreas concurridas, puede estar bastante nervioso y un poco asustado. Sospechamos que con su anterior dueño ha pasado la mayor parte del tiempo encerrado y, por lo tanto, no está muy familiarizado con el ajetreo y el bullicio de la vida humana. Gordo ist ein schöner und imposanter American Staffordshire Terrier im besten Alter. Er wurde von seinem früheren Eigentümer im Tierheim abgegeben, weil er sich nicht mehr um ihn kümmern konnte. Gordo wartet nun bereits seit längerer Zeit auf seine zweite Chance und ein schönes Zuhause. Im Tierheim fühlt er sich sehr gestresst und er wird von Tag zu Tag unglücklicher. Ab und zu kann Gordo ein paar Tage dem Tierheimstress entfliehen und er darf mit zu seinen Pateneltern (wenn diese zu Besuch in Spanien sind) ins Ferienhaus. In einer ruhigen Umgebung angekommen erkennt man Gordo nicht wieder, dann ist er ein gemütlicher und angepasster Hund im Haus und Garten. Er ist sensibel, einfühlsam und genießt die Gegenwart der Menschen. Gordo ist gut erzogen und zeigt sich von seiner besten Seite, er bettelt nicht am Tisch, ist stubenrein und in der Nacht verhält er sich ruhig und liegt träumend auf seiner Decke. In seiner Natur liegt ein Beschützerinstinkt, welchen Gordo in seinem Revier zeigt. Fremde Menschen können nicht ungefragt „sein“ Grundstück betreten, somit sorgt er für die Sicherheit von Haus und Hof. Auch Katzen sollten ihm nicht in die Quere kommen und lieber die Bäume nicht verlassen. Seinen weiblichen Artgenossen begegnet Gordo mit zurückhaltender Freundlichkeit. Beim Spazieren gehen wirkt er etwas aufgeregt und nervös. Wir vermuten, dass er die meiste Zeit eingesperrt verbringen musste und daher nicht sehr vertraut mit der Öffentlichkeit ist. Das könnte auch der Grund sein, warum er sich gelegentlich mit vorbei fahrenden Fahrzeugen ein Wettrennen liefern möchte. Gordo ist ein toller Hund, der seinem Menschen immer treu und ergeben zur Seite stehen wird, er ist eine Bereicherung für Menschen mit Herz und Verstand, die die Liebe eines Hundes zu schätzen wissen. Auf Grund seiner kräftigen Statur und Kraft suchen wir für Gordo einen Menschen mit Hundeerfahrung, der ihm mit Geduld und Liebe die Welt zeigen und seine Erziehung noch erweitern kann. Gordo is a gorgeous and imposing American Staffordshire Terrier in his prime. He was left at the shelter by his previous owner because he could no longer take care of him. Gordo is already waiting for quite some time for a second chance and a nice home.
Unfortunately, life in the shelter causes him a lot of stress and we notice that he is getting more and more unhappy every day. So now and then Gordo can escape the stress of the shelter for a few days when he is allowed to stay with his godparents when they are here on holiday. As soon as Gordo arrives in their quiet environment he totally relaxes and just seems another dog. His godparents say that in their house and garden Gordo is an easy going and very well-behaved dog. He is sensitive, empathetic and loves the presence and attention of people. Gordo is also really obedient and calm in the house and always shows himself from his best side, he does not beg at the table, is house trained, and at night he just lies down on his blanket dreaming. Gordo has an instinct for guarding and his large size, heavy build, and deep-toned bark will definitely help ward off trespassers. Gordo is not a big cat fan so he will chase them away. Friendliness with other dogs depends on the other dog, he seems to have a preference for calm and balanced females however we think he prefers to be an ´only child´.
Gordo likes walks however when going out for walks in busy areas he can be quite nervous and slightly scared. We suspect that with his previous owner he has spent most of the time locked up and is therefore not very familiar with the hustle and bustle of human life. That could also be the reason why he occasionally wants to have a go at passing vehicles.
All in all, Gordo is a fantastic dog who is naturally very loyal and devoted to his people and therefore a great companion. Due to his strong stature and strength, we are looking for a home with dog experience for Gordo. Someone or a family who appreciates his nature and qualities and is willing to expand Gordo´s knowledge of human life, with patience and understanding.
